Donald Rumsfeld shares this statement to the press in February 2002, regarding to the absence of evidence linking the government of Iraq with the supply of weapons of mass destruction to terrorist groups.

Donald Rumsfeld statement has three categories:

Known Knowns: Things we know that we know

Known Unknowns: Things we know we do not know

Unknown Unknowns: Things we do not know that we do not know.

He forgot one category. Slavoj Žižek, a Psychoanalytic philosopher, extrapolates from these three categories a fourth. It is named Unknown knowns. It is that which we intentionally refuse to acknowledge that we know.

Slavoj Žižek has a saying:
